Community prays for safety and calm after Mosque shooting

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community USA expresses its concern after a mosque sign was shot at in Plainfield, Indiana. The mosque serves as the headquarters for the Islamic Society ofNorth America (ISNA). While thankfully nobody was reported injured at the mosque, ISNA congregants have reportedly received threats of violence on account of their faith as Muslims.

“We are saddened to hear about this shooting on our fellow American Muslims,” said Wasim Malik, National Vice President of Ahmadiyya Muslim Community USA, “and are praying for their safety, the mosque’s safety, and for the safety of American Muslims nationwide. This is an emotionally tense time, and we will continue to have education programs to share Islam’s true teachings to effectively address anti-Muslim sentiment.”

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community urges patience and dialogue during these trying times and urges all Americans to stand united against intolerance and extremism.
