Attention: Writers, Authors and Reviewers
What to do when you write, translate or publish a book, flyer or magazine.
- Tell the department first. If you are writing or translating a book, let the National Secretary Publications know. This avoids two people working on the same thing, and the department can share the requirements and guidelines.
- Get approval. Books about the Jama’at need approval from Wakilut-Tasnif before publication; the department handles the request.
- Library of Congress. Authors, editors and publishers must send two copies of their books, flyers, magazines and newsletters to the Library of Congress, Attn: Copyright Acquisitions Division, CAD/SER, 101 Independence Ave SE, Washington, DC 20559-6602, unless the Library of Congress has told you in writing that further copies are not needed. The Copyright Office can fine publishers who do not.
- Send a copy to the department. Anything printed locally, a flyer, book or newsletter, should go to the Secretary Publications for the Ahmadiyya archives and the annual publications report to the International Headquarters.
Volunteer
The department needs volunteers for translation, review and editing. If you have time to help, please contact the National Secretary Publications.
